Gretchen Schurman

Giving Assistant and Social Media Coordinator

Gretchen became a part of the Kaulig Companies team during the summer of 2019 as an intern. She quickly fell in love with Kaulig Giving’s good work helping the community and was eager to learn and do more, so she permanently joined the organization as a giving assistant months later.

Gretchen is also a student at Kent State University working toward a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality Management with minors in Business and Marketing. She plans to graduate in spring 2021. Gretchen serves as the Director of Internal Philanthropy for her sorority, Delta Gamma, where she plans events to raise money for Service for Sight, Delta Gamma’s Philanthropy that benefits the blind and visually impaired. Prior to that position, she acted as the Director of Fundraising.

Having an older sister who works for a nonprofit, Gretchen recognizes the importance of both corporate and community support. Therefore, working for a company that provides funding to local nonprofits means a lot to her and drives her to further connect and help these organizations. Gretchen’s vision for Kaulig Giving is “to build upon existing relationships and create new ones within the community we are so lucky to serve while preserving our core values.”

When not working or at school, Gretchen enjoys spending time with family in Pittsburgh, being with friends, volunteering, working out, and traveling to new places.
