The Superhero Project uses creative thinking and the arts to empower youth impacted by serious illnesses, disabilities, mental health challenges, trauma, and complex medical needs. We interview kids and teens about their superhero alter egos – what they stand for, what powers they have, what they look like, and how they want to make a positive difference in the world. The storytelling collaboration continues when artists design the characters the children have described, creating a visual representation of their strength and courage. Families receive the individualized posters of their superheroes to treasure forever.
